Adventurous cycling trip through Slovak mountains

Adventurous cycling trip through Slovak mountains, Slovakia Travel, Location Join us on this adventure trip in Slovak Mountains. We will cross the biggest and the highest Mountains – High Tatras Mountains, Low Tatras Mountains, Velka Fatra, Slovak Paradise,…. 600km of mountain biking is full of great down hills. We will start in Pieniny national park; continue under the High Tatras Mountains. We will cross the Low Tatras and Velka Fatra Mountains. We will bike in Stiavnicke hills with through medieval mining Banska Stiavnica town. Polana, where we will spend one night is unique biospheric reservation with old forests of spruces and fears. We will visit Slovak paradise – canyons, waterfalls, and we will finish in historical gem of Slovakia Spissky castle. It’s not just biking; we will visit many natural beauties – Belianska cave, Kmetov waterfall, Slovak paradise, and historical sights in Slovakia – Banska Stiavnica, Zvolen, and Vlkolinec. Itinerary

Day 1:

Arrival to Slovakia, accommodation, informal reception.

Day 2:

Our journey will start in Pieniny national park. This is he northest national park in Slovakia. Dunajec river forms nature border with Poland.

Bicycle trail: Pieniny – High Tatras Mountains, 50 km long, difficulty – easy.

Day 3:

We will bike through the High Tatras Mountains. We will visit one of the longest valleys in the High Tatras. We will enjoy great views of mountains.

Bicycle trail: Tatras Mountains – Ticha Valley – Western Tatras Mountains, 75 km long, difficulty – easy.

Day 4:

We will bike through the foothills of the Western Tatras mountains. We will visit open-air museum of Slovak village Pribilina and we will spend the night close to Liptovska Mara lake.

Bicycle trail: Western Tatras Mountains – Low Tatras Mountains, 46 km long, difficulty – hard.

Day 5:

Hard day in the mountains. You will enjoy perfect down hills in our largest mountains Low Tatras.

Bicycle trail: Low Tatras Mountains – Banska Bystrica town – Zvolen town, 60 km long, difficulty – hard then 20 km long, difficulty – easy.

Day 6:

We will visit historical UNESCO town Banska Stiavnica. It's unique world heritage. Pocuvadlo lake is part of water-management system of Banska Stiavnica mines. It's very beautiful and peaceful place.

Bicycle trail: Zvolen – Banska Stiavnica town – Pocuvadlo lake, 58 km long, difficulty – middle.

Day 7:

We will visit another UNESCO site. Polana is unique biospheric reservation of primeval forests. Polana is protected landscape area and the one of the biggest volcanoes in the middle Europe.

Bicycle trail: Pocuvadlo - Banska Stiavnica (Open-air Mining Museum) – Kozelnik – Dubove - Zvolen – Polana Mountains, 70 km long, difficulty – easy.

Day 8:

We will cross the largest mountains Low Tatras again in their east part. We will cycle in typical Slovak country "lazy" that means colorful fields and meadows with private houses of farmers.

Bicycle trail: Detva – Hrinova – Cierny Balog – Brezno – Zavadka n./Hronom, 74 km long, difficulty – easy.

Day 9:

We will move to the National park - Slovak Paradise. We will visit another unique UNESCO site: Dobsinska ice cave. We will spend the night in the south part of Slovak Paradise.

Bicycle trail : Zavadka n./Hronom – Cervena Skala – Dobsinská Ice Cave – Dedinky (National park - Slovenský raj), 48 km long, difficulty – middle.

Day 10:

We will cross Slovak Paradise. We will get on the cliff Tomasovsky vyhlad where we can again see the High Tatras mountains.

Bicycle trail: Dedinky – Stratena – sedlo Kopanec – Hrabusice – Spisská Nova Ves (Cingov, Tomasovský vyhlad, Prielom Hornadu), 46 km long, difficulty – hard.

Day 11:

The last easy day. End of cycling day will be in Spissky castle, the biggest castle in the middle Europe. We will enjoy beautiful time in Poprad town - centre of the High Tatras after successful trip.

Bicycle trail: Spisská Nová Ves – Spisske Vlachy – Zehra (kostol) – Spissky castle, 37 km long, difficulty – easy.

Day 12:

Farewell and departure from Slovakia.
