Observing Bird Populations in Slovakia
The program of the trips is oriented toward the observation and the listening to the voices of selected bird societies. The trips are appropriate for every kind of interest in the societies of birds. Certainly, the main stress is on the expert ornithologists. In Europe, there is relatively few species that kept their original character. Slovakia, by its rich endowment of primeval forest reservations has, in this respect, a key position in Europe. Many prized forest ranges, that provide sanctuary to a variety of rare birds, are found in central Slovakia. The varied topographic elevations of the Slovak landscape naturally create considerable diversity of species and consequently, also, bird families. The study of birds in the natural environment is very significant in fostering the understanding of the complex ecological relations within the bird society and it is the prerequisite in the management of the humanly caused genealogical disturbance of the species.
