Martinske Hole

Martinske hole is a popular tourist and ski resort located in Mala Fatra Mountains. The altitude of the resort is about 1,150 - 1,456 m EASL. Martinske hole resort lies to the west of Martin town in the Turiec region. The resort is known for good ski trails, beautiful forested countryside, and breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains and the Turiec region.

Mincol peak

A central peak (1,364 m EASL) on the main ridge of Lucanska Mala Fatra offers beautiful views to the surrounding area of Velka Fatra, Mala Fatra Mountains, and also Western Tatras and the High Tatras Mountains. A big iron double-cross dominates on the top. There is also a crossroad of several tourist trails.

Strecno Castle - on the left bank of river Vah, close to Zilina city

Strecno Castle towering on top of the massive limestone rock has already existed in the first half of the 14th century. The castle was to safeguard the toll collection at a ford through the Vah river in the region. Nowadays, the castle houses a museum with an imposing exposition and spectacular views from the tower.

Strecno Old Castle

One of the oldest castles in the whole Vah river region, the Old Castle is situated upon the Váh River opposite side of Strečno Castle. The seat of a local province in the 13th and 14th centuries. The castle started to become desolate in the early 18th century and gradually turned to romantic ruins.

Velky Rozsutec - a very noticeable mountain situated in Mala Fatra National Park

Velky Rozsutec (1,610 m EASL) is characteristic of limestone walls forming a pyramid peak. The most majestic view of the Rozsutec is from the village of Stefanova (625 m EASL), located 3 km west, the starting point of the green marked trail to the peak.

Janosikove Diery - a system of canyons and gorges in the Mala Fatra Mountains

They consist of three integrated parts: Lower Holes, New Holes, and the Upper Holes. The beauties of the valley are the result of mountain stream erosion. The holes include more than twenty waterfalls.

Velky Krivan - the highest peak of the Mala Fatra Mountains

Velky Krivan (1,708 m EASL), also Velky Fatransky Krivan, is located on the main ridge of Small Fatra. This meadowy mountain peak reaches above the upper limit extension of mountain pine and offers an excellent circular view.

Vratna Valley - the most favorite valley in the Mala Fatra Mountains

Vratna valley is one of the most visited tourist and ski destinations in Slovakia, reaching 1,550 m EASL with 16 ski slopes. It is also sought-after for cross-country skiing conditions and hiking trails.

Terchova - a large village in Zilina Region, northern Slovakia

The village lies in a valley in the Small Fatra mountains. Terchova is the birthplace of Juraj Janosik, who commonly refers as a Slovak Robin Hood.
