I loved Slovakia, it was a wonderful trip, and I enjoyed every moment!
The tour is excellent and allowed us to visit the most interesting places of Slovakia: different sceneries, from old cities to mountains, rivers and caves! In short, every place I mostly wanted to visit.
You were an excellent guide, providing us with rich information about the country, the people, the places… Attentive, sweet, very patient, and ready to endeavor your best efforts to meet our needs. And a good driver, giving us the feeling that we were safe. Your recommendations about restaurants were very great.

You know, very few people in Brazil know where Slovakia is located. I feel fortunate to be able to know e visit it.
I want to thank you for the lovely time! You made me want to go back once again.

We enjoyed our Grand Tour of Slovakia very much. The itinerary with castles, cathedrals and caves was excellent. Our guide Maria was knowledgeable, very well organized. and a pleasure to be with.
Thanks to her we were able to visit the village where my ancestors came from. The hotels were all very clean and the breakfasts had a wide selection of food to eat. Eating dinner at the Slovak restaurants was a real treat since we do not have any authentic Slovak restaurants back home.
A few of the hotels we stayed at did not have air conditioning but we were able to make due with fans supplied by the hotel staff. This was helpful since the weather was hot the last week of August.
We were surprised to see so many cars passing at high speeds especially on two lane roads.
We gladly recommend Travel Slovakia for a great tour !

PS - We were pleased to meet up with Jan to pick us up and bring us back to the airport in Vienna.

I did a tour with the Travel Slovakia company and my experience was nothing short of absolutely phenomenal. Barbora - thank you for the follow up. after we left Slovakia we spent a few days in Croatia so we just got home on Friday. We had a wonderful time in Slovakia. Jan was such a great guide and he exceeded our expectations. We feel like we have made a new friend. He was especially helpful when visiting my family members in Pruzina as only one of them speaks any English.

Have been home a few days now and in reflection on this trip, I wanted to send a big thank you for the awesome tour of Slovakia that you arranged. The attention to detail, the planning, the accommodations and everything about the trip was top-notch. This was one of the best travel tours I've attended in a country that is so beautiful and a secret from main-stream tourism. Additionally, I can't say enough kind words about Lucia. She was attentive, informative and caring..... And so patient with my cousin in her translations. She was supportive and willing to be flexible every day........ And heaving my luggage deserves her a medal!

Of course, finding my cousin and his wife in Dubinne was the highlight of the trip for me. Walking in the footsteps of my grandparents' village, and realizing the courage and determination it took 150 years ago to carve out a new life in America was truly amazing. I am so touched and so grateful for this opportunity....... And your team made it possible!

We arrived home Tuesday afternoon with no problems. The entire vacation was wonderful and Nancy and I felt we had seen a lot of Slovakia and experienced a lot of the Tatra Mountains and the Slovensky Raj. Slovakia is a beautiful country and I hope it is not my last visit there.
We thoroughly enjoyed our time with Lucia and had a lot of fun getting to know her and learn more about Slovak traditions as we toured. She was so welcoming and friendly and we could not have asked for a better guide. We also met Miro as our paths converged on a couple of days and had a chance to talk to him and his client as well.
We mentioned Travel Slovakia to several on our hiking trip and recommended they contact you if they planned future travel throughout Slovakia. It was definitely the best way to experience the country.

Yes, I had a lovely time in Slovakia. Lucia is an excellent guide (and safe driver) and we had a good time. She understands how to figure out what her client wants and then to meet those needs. She also helped me with luggage when the stairs were a bit too much for me.
I enjoyed the trains I took as well and the other cities I visited, especially Kosice, Banska Stiavnica and the Danubiana museum outside of Bratislava. Everyone was very helpful, even when we didn't share a language!

I would like to thank you for the assistance and arrangement of this trip. Slovakia is a beautiful country with much to offer and many potentials. Special thanks to Jane, our guide, who went all the way to help and accommodate our needs (eg seeing Bojnice Castle not on the itnerary and had to drive long to reach, and going with us to the chinese embassy and the police station to file a report on the missing wallet). If it hadn't been for her, our trip would not be the same. The accommodations were nice, Crowne Plaza, City Resident and Hviezdoslav in particular. As only 2 had air-conditioning though we had specially requested air-conditioned accommodation before, we had a time to adjust because of the unusual heat. But the hotels were nice enough to supply us with fans, so not too much a problem. Nevertheless had we known that would be the case, we would pick another time to visit Slovakia.

Your country's nature is awesome. I had difficulty in climbing up rocky paths or slopes leading to streams and castles because some roads were laden with rocks of different sizes, sometimes loose. For people not used to hiking (like me), it could be dangerous. Again I have to thank Jane for giving me a hand to go up and down (since my knees wobbled).

Lucia was wonderful in every way. She is very conscientious and made sure we saw the important and historical sites on each day. Mikell and I loved your country, and were able to see so much of it. We have been singing your praises. The only hotel we did not like was The Dahlia. It is not in as nice a neighborhood as the others and the people were not friendly. All of the other accommodations were fabulous. I purchases a beautiful painting in her village. The artist is a well known Sovakian artist, and we are thoroughly enjoying it. Each time we look at it, we will think of our lovely time in Slovakia.

Bill and I have arrived back in New Zealand and it is nice to be home. We had a very good holiday and very much enjoyed our time in Slovakia.

Firstly, thank you very much for all the work you put into planning our itinerary and for your excellent communication with me. That gave us confidence that all would work out well for the Slovakian experience. We really knew very little about Slovakia and we certainly learnt a lot on our holiday.

We found Miro to be a very pleasant, informative and helpful guide and we got on very well with him. We felt safe when in the car with him although we felt that the standard of the vehicle provided could be improved. His English is certainly adequate and he tried hard to improve his vocabulary when conversing with us.

The standard of our accommodation was very acceptable. The hotel which we were a little disappointed with was Pension Kachelman - the room smelt very strongly of chlorine when we entered, which persisted for some time, and the breakfast was limited in choice and not up to the standard of the other hotels. The other hotels were all different and very good. We really enjoyed our stay in Hotel Hviezdoslav in Kezmarok. While we found all aspects of our stay very interesting, the highlight for us was the time we had based in Kezmarok and the days we spent in the vicinity of the mountains. The countryside is beautiful and we found people friendly and helpful.

We will be telling friends about our experiences and would have no hesitation in recommending Travel Slovakia to anyone thinking of visiting your country.

I had a very wonderful experience using your services. My request may have seemed a bit "unusual" in the sense that I was looking to have a guide to help me find villages of my ancestors as well as guide me on a hike in the High Tatras.
You found the perfect guide for me; Marian is a certified mountain guide and he knew the High Tatras like the "back of his hand". I was successful in meeting new and distant relatives in two different villages and was able to initiate genealogical searches at the archives in Levoca.

We were awfully glad to hear from you and apologise for not writing sooner.First of all you can set your mind at rest about our trip, both in the Czeck Rep. and with you. All my friends who heard about our trip are convinced that to go organized but small groups is not more expensive than hiring a car paying for the gas, plus insurance and not making mistakes on the way is best. Add to that that all is organized from the beginning to end makes a good deal.

Thanks for your letter and also for the photos. I also want to thank you for the wonderful trip you gave us. George wrote about the programs and the general arrangements but I would like to add some more personal comments. After all the years that I worked as a teacher I think I know what kind of feedback people would like.We enjoyed your company very much. Being with a small group enabled you to be more flexible and change things if they didn't seem right whether it was an ABC, or the bad weather in the High Tatras. It was not a problem for you to come back the next day, or to take us to see the lit up castle at night. And of course we haven't forgotten the extra trip you made for us to see our friends. Thanks again for that.. What was more important to me than more information about the things we saw, was that you really made us feel your love of your country, so that it passed on to us.
All in all it was a good combination of history folklore and nature, and we really enjoyed the tour and your guidance.

We would like to thank you and your entire staff for setting us up with such a wonderful trip. Each place of interest we toured was a good experience as each had something different to offer which we really enjoyed.
We had a exceptional tour guide (Liby) as her concerns were always to satisfy our needs and interests. She was very fluent in both Slovak and English languages which really helped us with every step of our trip including finding family members that had no contact with their American families for over 100 years.
The entire tour was very pleasant. Our accommodations were very nice at times a little hard to find and somewhat inconvenient to locate , but when we were settled in they were very nice. The outside diden't always present itself very well as the buildings looked unfinished considering the age they were exceptional. The insides were always very nice. For us we would prefer a. more quite less congested area to stay. Our meals were all very tasty with a good selection since we were interested in the Slovak traditions we leaned toward eating their food which was all great.
The castles and churches were a great experience as each offered something different we had no idea about the countries rich history. We enjoyed each and everyone. The country presented itself very well from the friendly people to the snowy mountains rich farm lands including the cities which seemed to be very clean based on there age. We could talk a lot more about the country and heritage, but we hope to come back and experience the areas in person.
The most important and exciting part of our trip was finding our relatives and where my mother was born, lived and attended church.

If we were to suggest anything different we would want our guide to stay where we stayed, because the need for assistance with a medical emergency or other emergencies that are unexpected. When we were making our long trip back to the airport it would have been better to travel the main highways rather than the narrow winding roads through each small town.
Thanks again for a wonderful tour it is very much appreciated and hope to be back soon. We really enjoyed your beautiful country and seen a lot of wonderful points of interest.

Overall we were very satisfied with our stay in Slovakia. The country is very beautiful and offers a variety of possibilities: hiking, sightseeing, water recreation etc. So we are happy we discovered your country. If you had a coastline then you could call your country little paradise...

Regarding the program we had a few thoughts based on the fact we know the country and possibilities better since our holidays. Of course we didn’t study all the possibilities in beforehand as we agreed with your program overall. So consider the following comments as suggestions or thoughts for future offers you have to make to other tourists:
the first day was too heavy for us; we finished another week of work & stress, and then hiked 27 km on the first day (24km + 3km from Hrbeniok because the train service was only operating until 4:30pm); we were exhausted and discouraged a little bit for the rest of the program – one additional remark: we couldn’t receive the free train ticket from the hotel package until the next day, so that’s why we had to walk down the last 3km after a very exhausting first day
hotel/pension accommodations: we liked the fact we could change places to stay overnight, but we were disappointed in 2 places: Popradske Pleso (local hut) and Klopacka. Your already received the feedback regarding Popradske Pleso. We didn’t like Klopacka because the kitchen closed at 7:30pm (early!), the breakfast was minimal and there was nothing around to see. We would have preferred to stay in the nearby town (Spania Dolina??) where Lucia showed us around the next day in the morning
program in general was very good with enough variety; if we had to do this again we think we would have spent 1-2 days more in the mountains, but perhaps spend only 3 days in High Tatras, and also do a few days in Low Tatras and Little Paradise to see more nature and not only rocks... the sightseeing tour was perhaps a little bit too long but Lucia was kind enough to add a few more things like visiting caves or stopping somewhere in a nice town or place for lunch.
the cruise on the Danube in Bratislava was not our thing: very touristic, zero service in the boat, nothing to see (spend 2 hours to visit an old castle ruin) – this is more for families with children or older people; we would prefer a smaller cruise, less people, some food & drinks in the boat, music etc...
food was generally spoken honest, simple, good and affordable (cheap); service is not up to date and usually too fast; your country is still undiscovered so we expect if more people from West Europe or US/Asia will visit Slovakia then automatically the service will improve.
Lucia was a great guide, very friendly and flexible; she was nice to talk to so we got never bored with her; we have nothing ‘bad’ to say about her, it was a pleasure to get to know Lucia during this trip.

We hope to be back one of these days, but since there are so many other destinations on our wish list, we can’t promise when...

Slovakia is a heartwarming, beautiful country with green rolling hills, spectacular High Tatras, scenic villages scattered throughout the countryside and agricultural fields spanning the horizons. We enjoyed the scenic hike in the High Tatras, the relaxing thermal pools afterward, the unique wooden churches, castles, the old section of Bratislava. In addition to all of the above, our guide, Lucia, introduced us to a family who are friends of hers. They welcomed us into their home, sharing with us their culture, nearby river and old railroad station, endless conversations and hospitality, concluding with a home-cooked dinner in their yard. We shall treasure the memory of this evening forever. Our guide, Lucia, seemed more like a family member or friend. She was an excellent driver, had a wealth of knowledge about Slovakia's history and geography and paid particular attention to our interests. She exuded great pride of her country which she shared with us daily. We missed her the moment our trip concluded. Our hotels were all comfortable with plentiful breakfasts. Slovakia is definitely a jewel which should be experienced by travelers from around the world.
We were truly blessed to have had Travelslovakia as our guide on this very special trip.
