Mala Fatra National Park lies in the westernmost Slovak mountains of Mala Fatra. Gorges, rocky peaks, and an attractive ridge tour are among its biggest attractions.
The main subject of protection is the territory with varied geological history and dissected relief forms, rare and precious biocenosis, flora and fauna, and the exceptional value of forest and mountain compounds with precious dwarf pinewoods, rapacious animals such as the wolf, lynx, or bear.

During this tour, you will walk through the whole national park to see its most impressive places in general. This tour is suitable for first-time visitors who wish to spend the entire week exploring its unique fauna and flora.
Besides, you will visit cultural monuments - medieval castle ruins and traditional Slovak village with wooden houses.

1. Day 1 Arrival in Martin (Vrutky), Slovakia. Transfer to Bystricka village.

2. Day 2 Hike from Bystricka to Martinske hole.

   Bystricka - Martinske Hole (4 hrs)
   You will start in west part of Mala Fatra Mountains, Lucanska Fatra, from Bystricka village. Bystricka lies in the natural environment of Turcianska Kotlina, on the west side Lucanska Fatra and Martinske hole.

3. Day 3 Hike from Martinske hole to Strecno village.

   - Breakfast
   - Hiking route: Martinske hole - Strecno
   - Accommodation in a guest house
   
   Martinske hole - Strecno (4 - 5 hrs)
   This walk will take you through the Lucianska Mala Fatra mountains. You will walk mainly on the mountain ridge and in the Fatra forests. Enjoy great views of the main ridge of Krivanska Mala Fatra and its highest peak Velky Fatransky Krivan. The walk ends in Strecno village.

4. Day 4 Hike from Strecno village to Strecno castle. Transfer to Techova village.

   - Car transfer to Terchova village

   Strecno Castle
   The morning program is to visit the Strecno castle set on a spectacular limestone cliff that plunges into river Vah. It was built in the 14th century to collect tolls and served as a watchtower.
   Afternoon visit of the Old castle on the opposite side of the river Vah and car transfer to Terchova village.

5. Day 5 Hike from Techova to Velky Rozsutec peak.

   - Breakfast
   - Hiking route: Terchova - Velky Rozsutec - Stefanova
   - Return to Terchova
   
   Terchova - Velky Rozsutec - Stefanova
   Terchova has the best location for the beginning of many walking trails to the Mala Fatra Mountains. You can enjoy the gorges of Dolne Diery and Horne Diery, and Mala Fatra ridge with monumental top of Velky Rozsutec peak during a day tour.

6. Day 6 Hike from Techova to Velky Fatransky Krivan peak.

   - Breakfast
   - Hiking route: Terchova - Velky Fatransky Krivan
   - Return to Terchova
   
   Terchova - Velky Fatransky Krivan and back
   For those who love spectacular views, the best choice is to hike to the top of Velky Krivan, the highest peak of the Mala Fatra Mountains. You will get by cable car to Snilovske saddle, the starting point of the hike, and from there easy hike to Velky Krivan peak.

7. Day 7 Transfer to Zilina. Farewell.
