It all went well. The scenery was very beautiful. It only rained for a short time on one day(when climbing up where the chains are)

The only minor problem was it took me a while to find the bus station in Starý Smokovec-

Hut to hut self-guided tour in the High Tatras

Hi Bara,
The trip was splendid!
The weather was the most challenging aspect, especially Day 3 with ample rain. But it was a a short day for me and I was done the main hike before the thunderstorm!
Juraj met me the night before at the hotel I was staying and he gave ma a good pointer with anticipated storm weather. Though I heard thunders I did not get rained on and even the last day with Rysy it held up. Unfortunately I did not see the magnificent view at the top, I was glad I could go all the way.

Each hut and Hotel Atrium were excellent.
I especially liked the hut on day 3 Zamkovsky hut. The host was so kind! Honestly, each hut has its charm and the views around the huts were spectacular.

I would love to come back and do other parts as there seems so many great trails in Slovakia. One thing if I can change, I would try to make Day 3 longer and day 4 short to even out a bit.
Other than that, I think how the days were split was great and I also enjoyed the train ride back.
The maps in gpx form definitely helped and I could also follow the markers well.

We are safely back from our tour and have even returned to the park today for more hiking!
We had a great time and thoroughly enjoyed our trip. The communication, the huts, and the route were all what we had hoped for and really appreciated the advice and recommendations Roman gave us beforehand.

Tatra Mountains Multi Day Self-Guided Hike

Hi Bara,

We are currently at the airport and on our way home. We indeed got back safe from the hiking trip! We really enjoyed it, the huts we stayed in were perfect, especially the location was very nice every time. We did underestimate the time the hikes would take due to the times indicated in the itinerary. We took some breaks in between but they were not very long, still we had one day that took us over 10 hours to get to the next hut (Popradeské pleso). We are young and pretty agile, and the other group who did the same route as us with your itinerary was also surprised by the difference in indicated time and actual time to get to each location. We think it might be good for future clients to give maybe a time range or mention that the time could differ when you take breaks? Or due to weather circumstances?

This definitely did not make it a bad experience though! We just hiked longer than expected, but still really enjoyed it. Mostly we wanted to mention this for future reference.

Another note for future reference is the parts of the trail that included chains and via ferrata, specifically hike day 3 and 4 (via ferrata part and sedlo Priečne) were a bit more intense than we expected. I found it really exciting, but it also felt a bit dangerous, and we feel that maybe it is good to advertise this a bit more clearly that it also includes dangerous parts and that weather can influence the intensity a lot. It included more climbing/scrambling than we expected (which I liked, but we think it's good to clearly advertise this for people who may be scared of heights and dangerous things like this). We did not bring gloves, Juraj our guide also said this was not necessary, but Priečne sedlo without gloves was actually quite hard because it was very cold and wet.

It was nice to be able to contact Juraj throughout the trip and have a meeting beforehand, it gave us the confidence we needed for this trip!

We're back home safe and sound! We had a wonderful hut-to-hut tour and really enjoyed it. It was well organized—thanks again for that. The High Tatras are magnificent mountains. Although the weather forecast didn't look promising, things turned out better than expected, and—apart from one afternoon—we didn't have any trouble with rain. We also really appreciated benefiting from Roman’s knowledge and expertise.
