Even if you do your research, it is always daunting to be in Australia and book a tour via email with an unknown company in another country. However, in this case our 5-day tour with Travel Slovakia/Slovakia Tours was exemplary and delivered on all aspects. Firstly, our contact with Bara in the office was prompt, positive, efficient and reassuring. I found their basic 4-day Best of Slovakia itinerary on the website and added an extra day to see Cicmany and Bojnice Castle (both well worth it).

Secondly, the itinerary was as comprehensive as it could be in our timeframe but also varied and offered diverse environments. The pace of the tour was relaxed. We discovered that the beauty of a private tour was the flexibility. Even with the itinerary we could vary the day by eliminating or adding other places or spending less or more time at places, so long as we were at our accommodation that night. The hotels all met our needs and were centrally located. The car was also very comfortable.

Our guide Barbora was an absolute delight and we enjoyed her company. She was very knowledgeable and was able to answer every question we had. She was flexible and willing to change the activities as we went along, making suggestions as well. We particularly appreciated her care and concern that we should get the best experience possible from Slovakia, all the while making accommodations for my sister’s sore foot.

We thoroughly enjoyed Slovakia and were sorry to leave in the end. I totally recommend Travel Slovakia.

Thank you for your email. We very much enjoyed our tour of your beautiful country. Barbora looked after us well and was sensitive to our needs and requirements. The hotels were all good, although the breakfast at the hotel in Banska Bystrica was poor. That hotel also had no aircon, which I understand; it was an old building. It was not a problem as it was cooler but in hot weather would be a problem, especially as there was no fan in the room. The location of all the hotels was good.
