Low Tatras offer a large number of trails for hiking and trekking with different levels of difficulty, from the demanding, which requires a certain degree of preparation to those that are designed for families with children or beginners. It is possible to choose hiking route according to the physical condition and, if in the mountains feel like home can use the services of mountain guides. Low Tatras offer you day easier trekking mountaineering and multi-day moderate to severe hikes.
In the Low Tatras National Park hikers have available for more than 840 km of marked hiking trails and 15 nature trails.
Popular tours are trek on the highest and most famous peaks Dumbier (2043 m) and Chopok (2024 m), which are unique in their spectacular views of the peaks of the High Tatras and the Western Tatras.
Shortest route to Dumbier starts from the south side of the Low Tatras. It is also a trail to Stefanikova hut, which is used to supply the mountain carrier. Another popular hike leads to a stone cottage directly under Chopok.
The most beautiful hike in the Low Tatras is the ridge, which begins Telgart village and continues to Kralova Hola, Certovica saddle, Hut pod Dumbierom, Dumbier, Chopok, Chabenec, Velka and Mala Chochula, Prasiva, Donovaly village. On this route, we recommend a minimum of four days.
Other options for hiking in the mountains are: Kralova Hola peak, rock arch Ohniste, Vajskovsky waterfall, Sina peak, Chabenec and Skalka peaks where ever possible to meet the marmot, wolf, chamois and bear.
