Day 1

Banska Stiavnica is a former mining town and lies amid the forests of the Stiavnicke mountains. Banska Stiavnica is one of the most beautiful and historically one of the most beautiful towns in Slovakia. The town is on the list of the World Cultural Heritage of UNESCO.
Banska Stavnica progressively became the dominant mining center in the Habsburg Monarchy in the 18th century. Banska Stiavnica monument town reserve comprises as many as 360 structures. Together they present a unique set of high cultural and historical value, placed into the pleasant environment of the Stiavnicke mountains.

Day 2

Hiking to Sitno hill and Pocuvadlo lake.

Today's walk takes you through beech and oak woodland on the top of Sitno hill (1,009 EASL), the highest one in the area. The peak offers a panoramic view from its top. There is a ruin of an old Sitno castle from the 13th century.

A bit challenging ascent to the peak follows a gentle descent through the woods to Pocuvado lake. It is the largest artificial lake from the 18th century, originally served mining purposes. Nowadays, it is a popular summer holiday resort.

Day 3

Calvary in Banska Stiavnica, Arboretum Mlynany visit. Transfer to Bratislava.

Calvary in Banska Stiavnica is the most imposing Baroque calvary in Slovakia and probably even in Europe. This calvary is a complex of 3 churches and 22 chapels with precious painting decorations and wooden painted reliefs.

Arboretum Mlynany boasts the most valuable exotic evergreen wood species in Slovakia. It also is one of the biggest arboretums in Central Europe. Its area covers 67 hectares and contains more than 2,300 plant world's species but mainly from Southern Asia, Korea, and Northern America.
